Pro-aid Transfer, Creation and Application

The objective of this course is to teach students a method of creating their own pros-aide transfers for special effects makeup applications. The course includes an overview of what a pros-aide transfer is and its various uses. The course also includes material overview and sources, “Sharpie trick” for acetate, demonstration of application and coloring execution, and a sculpting techniques demonstration.

Tim J. Hays is known for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024). He’s been doing makeup as a hobby since he was around 11 years old, and when he was 24, he got a job at Universal Studios Orlando doing makeup full-time in the makeup department in 1997.

Nicholas “Nix” Herrera is an award-winning body painter who got his start doing body painting and airbrush tattoos in Orlando, FL. Nix is dyslexic and uses art to express himself. His perfectionism led him to body paint for numerous celebrities’ parties, including some at the Playboy mansion. Nix Herrera is known for Thunderbolts* (2025), Blue Beetle (2023), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023).
