With a LinkedIn Learning subscription, IATSE workers have unlimited access to high-quality, up-to-date content available through courses, videos, audio, events, learning paths, documents, collections, and role guides. This FAQ blog explains everything you need to know to get started with LinkedIn Learning.
What is LinkedIn Learning?
LinkedIn Learning offers thousands of courses ranging from technical skills to creative skills in over ten languages, including English, French, and Spanish. As an IATSE worker, you have free access to this subscription through the IATSE Training Trust Fund.
How can I access LinkedIn Learning through the IATSE Training Trust Fund?
Download the application here and email it to us. You will receive a subscription request confirmation email followed by a welcome email containing a link to set up your LinkedIn Learning account. From there, the vast array of courses awaits you, ready to be explored at your own pace.
How do I log into my LinkedIn Learning account after I activate it?
Go to www.linkedin.com/learning to log in. If you did not connect your LinkedIn profile, enter your email address and password. If you connected your LinkedIn profile, use your profile email address and password or log into your LinkedIn profile and click “Go to Learning” at the top right next to “Me.”
What benefits does LinkedIn Learning offer to IATSE workers?
LinkedIn Learning provides IATSE workers the opportunity to learn new skills in a flexible and convenient manner. The IATSE and IATSE TTF have also created learning paths specifically for the IATSE workforce:
Audiovisual Readiness Training (AVRT): This learning path was developed by the IATSE Tradeshow Department as a complementary resource for the AVRT program. The IATSE Tradeshow Department’s Audiovisual Readiness Training (AVRT) is a skills-based training program you can complete with your LinkedIn Learning subscription and AVIXA membership. AV Video Series: This eight-part AV video series is for those interested in advancing their AV skills.
Computer Essentials: This learning path was developed by the IATSE Education and Training Department in collaboration with the IATSE Training Trust Fund as a resource to enhance basic computer literacy.
TTF Zoom and Teams: This learning path includes a TTF video course and handouts on using Zoom in the role of operator/facilitator along with LinkedIn Learning courses that address the use of Zoom, Teams, and other platforms.
How can I make the most of my LinkedIn Learning subscription?
To make the most of your LinkedIn Learning subscription, set clear learning goals, explore a diverse range of courses, and apply the knowledge you gain in practical scenarios. Engage with the content actively, take notes, and follow the learning paths from the IATSE and IATSE TTF created just for you. Remember, learning is a journey, and consistency is key to deepening your understanding.
Do I need a LinkedIn profile?
No, you don't need a LinkedIn profile to take advantage of LinkedIn Learning. You can create a LinkedIn profile and connect to it if you’d like when you activate your LinkedIn Learning account.
What if I don’t want to connect my LinkedIn profile to my LinkedIn Learning account?
When you activate your LinkedIn Learning account, you will have the option of connecting your LinkedIn profile to your account. If you don’t have a LinkedIn profile, you will be able to create one at that time. In either case, you can decline to connect your accounts if you prefer to keep them separate. Can I change my mind about connecting my LinkedIn Learning profile and opt in or out later?
You can opt in or out at any time by emailing us.
I use a different email address for my LinkedIn profile and LinkedIn Learning account. Can I still connect them?
Yes, you can connect your LinkedIn profile and your LinkedIn Learning accounts, even if you use different email addresses. Once connected, you will only use your LinkedIn credentials to access both your profile and LinkedIn Learning. Please note that if your accounts are connected and you use a different email address for your LinkedIn profile and login credentials, the TTF will not have it on file for your LinkedIn Learning account.
