Local 491 Has a New OSHA Outreach Trainer: Walter Scott Kiesling
Congratulations to Walter Scott Kiesling from IATSE Local 491 for completing the OSHA Outreach Trainer program at Georgia Tech and West Virginia University OSHA Training Institutes (OTI). After attending both the Train the Trainer: Teaching and Presentation Techniques and Train the Trainer Master Class, Walter was encouraged to further his safety training. With the support of the TTF through the Develop a Local OSHA Trainer program, he can now teach the OSHA 10/General Entertainment Safety Curriculum for his local and other locals.
“I saw a need for more safety training for our members. Thanks to the TTF, the Train the Trainer programs, and Local 491, I have had the opportunity to become an Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer. The Training Trust, along with local 491, gave me the necessary tools to succeeded in my goal of helping to make the industry a safer workplace for new and seasoned IATSE members through education.”
Walter Scott Kiesling is a charter member of IATSE Local 491. He's been in the industry for over 25 years, is a Special Effects Coordinator, and is father of a 19 year-old son who wants to get in the "biz."
