DMX Control for the Lighting Programmer and Set Lighting Technician teaches students to understand how to use DMX for television shows and feature films. The class breaks the subject into a manageable progression of skills, starting with the basics of running DMX cables, tools required for troubleshooting, understanding the basic concepts of how DMX works, and using those skills so the Set Lighting Technician, Programmer, and CLT can work together to implement the complex tools of control and more effectively light the set.
Upon completion of day one, students will have understood the lecture topics and gained mastery over basic intellectual concepts of DMX, sACN, and complex computer networking. Day two begins the practical portion of the class where students take the concepts learned on day one and apply them to rigging a live set.
