This three hour class guides participants through an interactive study and breakdown of a scene from an episodic television series. In this course participants identify essential script notes that provide clues to general production needs during filming. Taking interactive steps, the instructor guides each participant through a standard method of scene breakdown that prepares a Costumer for their job on set. This course helps set costumers better identify the creative and practical needs of a Director, Costumer Designer, as well as the collaborative efforts required from other departments, like Props, SFX, etc.
Upon successful completion of this class, participants will be able to read a scene and pinpoint key elements that inform a costumer’s preparation for filming on set and on location. Also, when better informed, set costumers act as helpful ambassadors for the safety and security of all talent working in costume.
