This equipment is often used on productions and now attendees can receive targeted, practical training for skid steer compact machines (“Bobcats”). Course components include classroom workbook, viewing a video (10 min), visual inspection, using a grease gun, function test, and hands-on practical. The class will be held indoors and the practical will take place outdoors at a nearby site. After participating in the course, you will be able to:
Discuss how weight distribution affects skid-steer loader steering and stability
Explain the difference between Tipping Load and Rated Operating Capacity
Have an understanding of the hydrostatic transmission, and that the loader will react the moment the steering levers are moved
Explain why maintenance is so important for safe, efficient, and productive operation
Identify the controls and their functions
Identify the loader's safety features and explain their importance
Explain the steps of safe entry and exit
Explain how to change attachments (forks)
Know the fundamentals of safe maneuvering, traveling, and working with the attachment
