Wigs are a common challenge in film and television productions especially for doubling of actors or period productions. Participants will learn about proper techniques for wig handling and fitting for actors, wig maintenance, styling and cleaning and how to identify the different types of wigs.
Identify different types of wigs (human/animal hair, synthetic, knotted, lace front, weft, ladder back, toupees)
Blocking and cleaning all types of wigs
Prep a head for a wig; pin a wig; remove a wig
Take a head mold for a wig builder
Tools for brushing and combing and other necessary tools: wig clamps, bonnet dryers, styro heads, canvas blocks, t-pins etc.
Setting particular styles for wigs
