Entertainment Electrics is a two-day course covering almost all of the topics listed in the content outline of the ETCP Entertainment Electrician Certification exam. It is organized in a very logical way in order to accommodate a range of skills and experience. It starts with basic electricity, circuit laws, and theory, and it builds towards more advanced topics including power distribution, power factor, and harmonics, with an emphasis on electrical safety, the use of PPE, codes and regulations, grounding and bonding, and GFCIs. It also covers control systems starting with DMX512-A, RDM, and Ethernet-based protocols (Art-Net and sACN), as well as wireless DMX, Ethernet networks, IP addresses, subnet masks, and more.
