This course teaches quick response and appropriate action at the scene of an injury. Infant, child, and adult CPR are covered. This class meets OSHA, NSHA, and MATA for workplace training. AED use and blood borne pathogens for the workplace are also covered, which includes a review of CDC guidelines, infection control, and methods of prevention and protection.

  • Describe how AED/CPR improves survival

  • Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival

  • Recognize when someone needs AED/CPR

  • Perform CPR for an adult

  • Describe how to perform CPR with help from others

  • Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups

  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult

  • Perform CPR for a child

  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on a child

  • Perform high-quality CPR for an infant

  • Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child

  • Demonstrate how to help a choking infant

  • Describe issues caused by blood borne pathogens

  • Cover cleaning and safety when working around blood
