The role of the on set armorer and use of blank firearms on set is designed to provide technical and demonstrable knowledge for students new to the entertainment industry who wish to increase their skill level when handling blank firearms and other weapons-related props within their role as crew members of the prop department. This class examines the responsibilities of the on set armorer through class room lecture, Q&A, and hands on demonstration of the needed skills. This training will mainly focus on safety and correct handling of these props. At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to identify when armorers will be needed and demonstrate the basic safety skill required when blank firearms are used on set.
