Props 201: Understanding Continuity
This course is primarily for members of the Props craft who are interested in learning strategies and techniques and gain a fuller understanding on how to track continuity when it comes to props. This course helps students develop continuity awareness and skills. The course covers prop-specific scenarios where continuity is of utmost importance. Students will learn theory, best practices, and troubleshooting. They will also examine various scenes in film where perhaps continuity failed and where it was successful. Lastly, students will work in groups to cover props-heavy scenes and discuss best methods of preparation and proactivity.

Sarah Dizio & Frankie Ferrari, IATSE Local 481

Sarah “Diz” Dizio has had a long career working in both the props department and the art department as a whole. Since joining Local 481 in 2021, they have had the opportunity to work on several projects as both an Assistant Prop Master and Prop Master. Their most recent work includes Julia (S1 & S2), The Mothership, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, American Fiction, Good Burger 2, and Thug.
Frankie Ferrari has been in Local 481 since 2019. While a good amount of their work has been as a Script Supervisor, they have also worked in both the props and locations departments. As a Script Supervisor, Frankie has been integral in keeping continuity at the forefront of her perspective. Her most recent works include American Fiction, Space Oddity, Black Friday, and Challengers.
