This is an advanced class focused on everything “mud” related, whether that's skim coating, hump and bump, seaming, or other textural techniques. The focus in each category is standardizing currently used methods (and their common alternatives) and expanding upon what is considered to be common knowledge in this field.

Oakley Wariner grew up working in 3D/sculpture and after a brief apprenticeship in stone carving, moved into the scenic arts. He has been working steadily in motion pictures as a Local USA829 member for the last five years including some fabrication and commercial work. He now runs a scenic subcontracting business and takes part in non-profit work where he enjoys teaching arts and activism.
Shantel Grant is a Scenic Artist and has been a member of Local USA829 for the past four years. She has spent over a decade working in scenery, fabrication, and restoration. Some of her professional scenic work can be seen on productions such as Billions, Fallout, and The Good Fight. In her spare time, she teaches a seasonal figure drawing workshop through The Brooklyn Loft, an art and workshop studio centered around community for the LGBTQIA+ artists and individuals.
