Ethernet for Lighting Control

This class provides advanced instruction beyond the Ethernet Protocols 101A classes using lighting equipment found on set, as well as routers, wireless access points, and switches that are available for personal use. Primarily through hands-on instruction, this class will instruct the member how to setup up routers and wireless access points, implement security protocols, integrate ethernet protocols into the DMX network, and use ethernet to link multiple consoles and devices. This class is focused on advanced topics and requires an understanding of DMX and TCP/IP. The DMX Networking 101A and Ethernet Protocols 101A classes or equivalent experience with permission of the instructor is required.
