Manual Script Breakdown for Costume

This course is a hands-on, paper-and-pencil course. It is based on script understanding from the point of view of the Costume Department, defining the needs of each character. The instructor goes through the supplied script and shows how to mark up the script in a consistent fashion to pull the needed information together in an easy method. Once the script is marked up, a set of costume plot sheets is generated by hand in a classroom situation with questions and answers from students and the teacher as we progress.

This course is designed to give a solid basis in looking for script effects for a department and making a document that is easily referenced as shooting progresses. Understanding this method can then be applied to computer programs such as Sync on Set.
