Forklift Operator
This class focuses on safe forklift operating knowledge and practice. The two-part session includes a morning classroom section including lecture, videos, and PowerPoint presentations, followed by individual appointments for the hands-on forklift practical portion. The classroom session addresses:
Forklift stability and the stability triangle
Load charts
Range of motion used in lifting materials
Forklift hazards & how to recognize hazards
Driving hazards associated with forklift operation

Jeff Griffith & Phil Reilly, IATSE Local 481
Location: Boston, MA
Jeff Griffith is a proud member and former president of IATSE Local 195, and an active member of IATSE Local 481. He has served as Technical Director at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. He was also a Project Manager for High Output, Inc. and the industry’s leading rigging manufacturer JR Clancy, Inc. He currently works as both an up-rigger and down-rigger in theaters and arenas around the country and also does steady dayplay and core crew work as a rigging grip on both feature films and television series.
Phil Reilly has worked in the film industry since 1986. He is a current member of IATSE 481, the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians (NABET 18), and a past member of the International Association of Machinists (IAM). He has worked as a Set Lighting Technician, Generator Operator, and Lighting Director on scores of major motion pictures and live television broadcasts. In addition to Hollywood films, Phil is employed by WGBH Television as their primary Lighting Director for all studio productions.
