Theatre Rigging Basics

In this course, we cover the basics of rigging as it relates to proscenium theatre. This course is designed to give participants a solid background of knowledge so they can go forward using safe practices and industry standards while working in a proscenium theatre. It should be noted that this course focuses primarily (but not exclusively) on the challenges seen in roadhouses. Participants will learn terminology, best practices, and relevant ANSI and OSHA standards in relation to counterweight systems, pin rails, haven’s grips, chain motors, and basic bridle math. This course carries 13 ETCP recertification points for arena riggers only.
