Basic Stagehand Knots
This course teaches basic stagehand knots, such as the Bowline, Clove Hitch, Trucker's Hitch, etc. It uses hands-on instruction with rope, printed materials, and a PowerPoint presentation. Students are given printed materials, a link to the PP presentation, and a length of rope on which to practice to take with them. In the course, students are not only taught the knots and how to make them, but the applications of the knot, its contraindications and weaknesses, how it affects the strength of the rope, and basic rope storage and care.
