Fatal falls, slips, and trips increased 11 percent in 2019 to 880. 80% of these worker accidents were fatal falls to a lower level. These deaths are preventable.
National Ladder Safety Month brings awareness to the importance of ladder safety and training. We’ve collected resources and free trainings to help you prevent ladder accidents at work.

Stairways and Ladders - A Guide to OSHA Rules: Informational booklet explaining OSHA requirements as they apply to stairways and ladders, as well as glossary of commonly used terms.
Falling Off Ladders Can Kill - Use Them Safely: Informational booklet provides safe work practices including when you should use a ladder; how to check, maintain, and store ladders; and workers’ rights. This booklet is in English and Spanish.
NIOSH Ladder Safety App: NIOSH’s mobile application is designed to improve extension and step ladder safety — a concern for those working in construction or any other task that requires ladder use.

TTF Safety First! Fall Prevention and Protection: This course provides an overview of the safe practices pertaining to fall prevention and fall protection while working on the ground or at heights. Topics covered include housekeeping, slips and trips, hierarchy of controls, ladder safety, travel restraint and fall arrest systems, as well as specifics related to elevated work platform, rigging, and scaffold safety.
American Ladder Institute’s Ladder Safety Training: This free ladder safety training is a tool for the proper selection, care and safe use of all ladders, including stepladders, single and extension ladders, articulated ladders, and mobile ladders.
