Mobile Elevating Work Platform Operator in New Orleans, LA | Local 478

The class will train the operator in the safe use of the equipment they will be operating. Upon completion of the course the operator will be able to do the following items, including but not limited to, identify and eliminate hazards, choose the correct equipment for the job being performed, conduct the visual inspection & function test, understand options for rescue from height, familiarize on the equipment make/model they will use, understand the operator’s manual, identify where to find the ANSI standards for safe use, and operate the equipment safely. Additionally, throughout this course topics that apply specifically to the film industry will be discussed. Any specific question from students regarding potential tasks they will complete while working will be answered. 

This course will include the ANSI 92.24 7.5 supervisor training to include the following topics. a) proper selection of the correct MEWP for the work to be performed; b) the rules, regulations and standards that apply to MEWPs, including the provisions for safe use as defined in ANSI A92.22, training and familiarization, and the work being performed; c) potential hazards associated with use of MEWPs and the means to protect against identified hazards; d) knowledge that the manufacturer's operation manuals are an integral part of the MEWP and need to be stored properly in the weather-resistant compartment on the MEWP.
