Rigging Math via GoToTraining | Local 479


This course examines mathematical principles through real world scenarios broken down and examined step by step with visual examples and instructor prompted problem solving. At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to identify the relevant mathematical principles and formulas and demonstrate their application in a variety of real world rigging scenarios. This course offers an excellent review of the rigging math sills necessary for success on ETCP Arena or Theatre Rigging Exams.

  • Basic math refresh

  • Components of force and vectors

  • Design factors

  • Pully math, D/d ration, fleet angles

  • Load basics

  • Center of gravity, tilt a two-point object

  • Loads on a bean, single, multiple, cantilevered

  • Multipoint uniform distrubtion loads, equal point spacing, equal load sharing

  • Slings and forces, breast-lines, calculating bridle leg length and tension
