Course participants will learn how to safely operate forklift machinery. This course will directly result in the certification of the students in this class with the training needed to ensure the safe operation of forklifts currently used on a daily basis by IATSE members on their jobsites through in person lecture, instructional handbooks, and hands-on operation.

• Principles of balance, stability, and capacity

• Pre-operation inspection

• Safety guidelines for operating a lift ruck

• Load handling techniques

• Fueling internal combustion trucks

• Battery charging and recharging
