This course designed to provide members with previous AV experience a refresher course on the setup and operation of equipment and software used in a typical breakout room. This course is designed to reacquaint members with the basics of breakout room setup with an emphasis on the equipment and software used at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Several common production scenarios will be presented and discussed. Attendees will have the opportunity to setup and operate projectors, screens, mixers, computers, and other associated equipment.
Reminder of the importance of punctuality, dress code, and hospitality
Assemble and disassemble folding screens
Setup and teardown tripod screen
Setup and adjust video projector
Setup PC laptop, connect to projector, and display PowerPoint and Acrobat
Set-up and operate remote presentation clicker
Combine PowerPoint presentations and basic editing on PC laptop
Setup small PA system with analog mixer & 2 speakers (also use ceiling speakers)
Operate analog mixer
Setup and operate handheld and lavaliere wireless microphone
Setup wired handheld microphone on stand
Setup laptop audio adapter and send audio to mixer
Discuss dressing of carts, tables, and cables
Proper cleanup, tools, and troubleshooting
