This four session virtual learning course covers fundamental rigging practices drawing from OSHA code and ETCP outline established industry practices including the International Code of Rigging Practices. Participants will learn fundamental rigging principles and practices for safe implementation of basic rigging systems used in entertainment production.

  • Risk management and basic rigging plan

  • Codes and standards

  • Fall protection

  • Rigging principles (forces, factor of safety, efficiency, D/d ratio, plasticity)

  • Materials and application of hardware

  • Points: Locating & marking, attachments

  • Truss & hoists

  • Loads and forces in determinate rigging systems, vectors, formulas
