This short, four-hour course will cover terminology and methods of pinning contemporary women’s clothing. Participants will learn the correct method of pinning for alterations to hand off to stitchers including proper terminology. The course is designed to provide necessary skills to Costumers of all experience levels in order to produce better outcomes in the fitting process. This class will focus on terminology and demonstrations on the correct and preferred methods of pinning to get good application.
Upon completion, participants will have good working knowledge of how different articles of clothing should fit, how to tell if the clothing is ill-fitted, and how to make proper adjustments to make clothing fit well with an eye for different periods and fit for each. Participants will also leave with good knowledge of what is possible in alterations and have a grasp of the time and skill level needed to accomplish alteration.
