Breaking Down a TV/Film Script in New York, NY | Local 764

This class teaches members how to read a script to see where the costume changes will occur and what will be needed for these changes. Members will learn how to breakdown a script which will teach them to manage their time and how to organize their costumes to suit the scripts for TV and movies. They will also learn how to communicate with the Costumer Designer to put together their Costume Bible. This will all be done with hands-on training using assorted scripts which each require different wardrobe needs.

  • Intro, what are the differences between a TV and a film script

  • Understanding script lingo

  • How to read what the script means for wardrobe

  • Reading between the lines to know what is needed before asked

  • Creating wardrobe charts for the characters
