Soldering 101 in New Orleans, LA | Local 478

This course is designed to teach sound, electrics, and special effects crew members how to properly solder in order to create and repair sound, lighting, and other special equipment. Participants will learn the basics of soldering and how to properly utilize the industry standard tools and techniques.

Through the use of live demonstration, discussion, and video examples, participants will learn how to correctly set up and operate a soldering station, how to solder wires together, how to solder xlr connectors, to solder wire to LED ribbon, and how to stitch ribbon pieces together. By doing such, participants will expand and strengthen their craft skills and be able to save time and money from outsourcing projects.
