Introduction to Stagecraft in Lititz, PA | Local 501

This course is designed to give an introduction to work calls and gig etiquette, stage orientation, and general job-site practices in the entertainment industry. The class focuses on hands-on experience at multiple stations that stagehands work with on stage productions including: Spotlight, Basic Electric, Pin Rail and Knots, and Truss and Hoists.

Upon completion of this course, students will be more knowledgeable of the entertainment industry and gig etiquette and will be able to operate, handle, and install equipment in various departments with proper and safe technique.

  • Truss and span set assembly

  • Focusing and hanging lighting fixtures

  • Knot and pin rail orientations

  • Motor operation

  • Stage and Jobsite Orientation

  • Proper Gig Etiquette
