The course will teach the basics of hanging a show from a lighting and electrics perspective. Types of lights, cable, dimmers, LEDs, and moving lights will all be demonstrated and hands-on used in a theatrical environment to explain the gear, the paperwork, and the best and safest practices.
The course serves as a quick and thorough immersion in the electrical department and how to apply the skills learned in the local theaters and on the ballroom or convention center floor. Participants will be able to understand basic fixture hanging techniques, trouble-shooting, how to read a plot, hookups, etc.
