This introductory course is designed for those who are new to or less experienced with metal work. Welding will be defined and various types of welding including what good and bad welds are will be explored. This limited-size class will provide plenty of hands-on opportunities and will address the following:

• Intro to welding processes

• Safety precautions and safe practices (oxy-fuel, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW)

• Proper cleaning/prepping of metals

• Shearing/punching with iron worker and band saw

• Cutting with torch and plasma cutter
