This course is a follow up to Electricity 101. It is designed to give the students the ability to transition from lighting technician to artist.

  • The basics of film exposure & compensation and their relationship with lighting

  • The Three Qualities of Light

  • Creating 3 “dimensions” in a 2 dimensional medium

  • How to use an incident light meter, reflected light meter (AKA spot meter), and color temp meter

  • Creating visually effective lighting ratios

  • Location vs Studio lighting

  • The safe & correct use of C-stands

  • Shaping light with flags, nets, scrims, and diffusion
