This course is a follow up to Electricity 101. It is designed to give the students the ability to transition from lighting technician to artist.
The basics of film exposure & compensation and their relationship with lighting
The Three Qualities of Light
Creating 3 “dimensions” in a 2 dimensional medium
How to use an incident light meter, reflected light meter (AKA spot meter), and color temp meter
Creating visually effective lighting ratios
Location vs Studio lighting
The safe & correct use of C-stands
Shaping light with flags, nets, scrims, and diffusion
