This course is designed as an introduction to movie and TV set electrics and lighting. It is designed to give the students the ability to work safely and efficiently on a TV or movie set as a Set Electrician. While there is no substitute for actual “on set” experience, this course is designed to give each student a working knowledge of the basics of Set Electrics.
The use and different types of “feeder” cables used on a set
Several different ways that power is then distributed from the feeder cables
The basics of electricity and electric safety
What tools a set electrician needs and should have when on a set
The correct and safe use of a digital voltmeter and Ampmeter (AKA multimeter)
The safe & correct use of Combo stands and Beefy Baby stands
