Vectorworks Beginner Set Design in Atlanta, GA | Local 479

This two-day class teaches motion picture professionals how to use Vectorworks to create working and construction drawings for film and television. Learn the basics of parametric set drawing: create accurate wall, window, and door styles for set design. Learn the basic concepts of classing and layering a set. Learn how to elevate walls with the elevate and section tools. Learn the basics of hybrid symbols to create custom objects. Create, label, dimension, and edit viewports with saved views and camera views, and finally export a printable PDF. You should come to this course knowing basic navigation and 2D/3D drawing in Vectorworks. Upon completion of the class, each student should be able to layout a page correctly including the title block, draft a simple set, including the inset of a door and a window.

  • Reinforce basic drafting skills

  • Become familiar the Vectorworks interface and basic toolkit

  • Understand the basic elements for set construction of wall, doors, and windows.
