The Powered Industrial Lift Truck Training Course uses the Ives Training and Compliance Program and expanded industry specific training. We have one day of classroom time where students receive all the valuable theory information OSHA wants us to have, followed by a theory evaluation that is a pass or fail.
Upon completion of the theory evaluation, the student will pick a time-slot where they will begin the Practical Training portion of the course. This is a three-hour time-slot where we work hands on, developing and honing forklift skills on a class 4 and class 5 Powered Industrial Lift Trucks. Training will be followed by a practical evaluation where students perform various tasks on the equipment and are graded on their performance. This is a pass or fail test.
After the student passes the course for the Class 4 and 5 P.I.T.s, they will have the option to sign up for the Class 7 (rough Terrain/Telehandler) course. The class 7 is a separate (upgrade) for the Forklift Cert. It is the same process with one day for classroom the upon completion student picks a block of time for practical training and evaluation.
