Experienced stagehands will learn the skills, techniques, and methods of concert arena down rigging. This eight-hour workshop includes a lecture with PowerPoint slides and frequent breaks to do hands on exercises in a learning environment that allows us to examine our techniques in slow motion and practice in real time.
At the end of this course, students will be able to
Read and understand the rigging marks on the floor
Properly and safely build the steel configuration
Identity placement and orientation of a point
Tie on and safely guide a point out
Lead the up riggers to the next point and keep the workflow moving
Land motors
Safely bring in points over a busy show floor
Identity common problems and safely resolve them
