Students will learn about the basics and theory of fiber optics. Then move right into the handling, cleaning, and testing of fiber optic cables that use military and broadcast style connectors. Course includes review of:
- Basic Fiber Optic Theory
- Materials and Standards
- Standard Telcom Connectors
- Cleaning & Handling
- SMPTE 304 Connectors (LEMO)
- Military connectors (TFOCA-II & Delphi)
- Expanded Beam Connectors
- Power meter and Light Source
