This two-day class provides detailed information on safe practices, safety awareness, worker responsibilities, and rights. It is essential for IATSE members, and is part of craft advancement, no matter what their primary craft. Jay Stone, OSHA Authorized Trainer and Local 481 member, has designed this course to include all required topics for OSHA 10-hour Outreach Safety Training Class for Construction and customized it to include a motion picture context and case examples.
Specific topics include:
- Introduction to OSHA
- OSHA Focus Four Hazards
- Falls
- Electrocution
- Struck-By (e.g., falling objects, trucks, cranes)
- Caught-In or Between (e.g., trench hazards, equipment)
- Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment
- Health Hazards in Construction and much more
Participants who complete the course and pass the written test will be issued an OSHA 10 Construction Course Completion Card.
