This course will provide technical and practical knowledge for workers engaged in audio department related activities in live event production. The course will include in-depth explanations and hands-on demonstrations to provide workers with the skills and understanding necessary to work competently in the audio department across venues.

• Basic electrical theory

• Basic sound theory

• Equipment familiarization

• Cabling and connecting

• Backline and band setup/take down

• Microphone selection/placement

• Audio line array setup/takedown

• Audio console and outboard gear set up/take down

• Hazard identification and avoidance
