This course is about electrical theory and its application, as well as electrical safety as it pertains to the distribution of electrical power in motion picture production and television production. Participants will learn basic and intermediate theory of electrical power distribution including DC and AC circuit theory, power calculations, three-phase power, power factor, harmonics, best practices for the safe distribution of electrical power, how to mitigate hazards by using the proper PPE, how to properly select the components of a power distribution system, and how to monitor the system during operation.
