Entertainment Rigging Fundamentals Online | Local 500


This four-session virtual learning course covers fundamental rigging practices drawing from OSHA code and ETCP outline established industry practices including the International Code of Rigging Practices. Upon completion, participants will be able to safely employ basic rigging systems.

  • Risk management and basic rigging plan

  • Codes and standards

  • Fall protection

  • Rigging principles (forces, factor of safety, efficiency, D/d ration, plasticity)

  • Materials and application of hardware

  • Points: locating and marking, attachments

  • Truss and hoists

  • Loads and forces in determinate rigging sytsems, vectors, formulas
